Geographical Location
Oberstreu is located in the Main- Rhön. The Springing in the Rhön flow stray flows through the upper and middle good are the hamlets of their names.

Name
Etymology
The name Oberstreu derives from the town flowing river, scattering, flowing to the Franconian Saale in Heustreu. The additional top should distinguish the village of the same name, southwest lying places.

History
The first written mention is in 762 as "villa Strewe ". The office of the Prince-Bishopric of Würzburg from 1500 belonged to the Frankish Empire circle. It was ceded to the secularisation of 1803 in Bavaria's favor in 1805, Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany to form the Grand Duchy of Würzburg and fell with this 1814 final at Bayern.
