Oktiabrske
Oktjabrske (Ukrainian Октябрське; Russian Октябрьское / Oktjabrskoje, Crimean Tatar Büyük onlar ) is an urban-type settlement in the center of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Ukraine with 10,400 inhabitants ( 2013).
Geography
Oktjabrske is located south of Rajon Krasnohwardijske on the highway M 18 (E 105), 43 km north of Simferopol, the capital of Crimea, and 25 km south of the Rajonzentrums Krasnohwardijske.
History
The village was first mentioned in writing with the former, Tatar name Büyük onlar in 1784. During the early 1870s, the village was connected to the railway network. Of 30 October 1941 to 12 April 1944, the village by troops of the Wehrmacht was occupied. After the deportation of the Crimean Tatars, the village was renamed from Bijuk - onlar (Ukrainian Біюк - Онлар ) in Oktjabrske on December 14, 1944 and received on 25 May 1957 status of an urban-type settlement. .
