The Old South Meeting House in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, was the scene of public debate, which ultimately led to the Boston Tea Party on December 16 in 1773. At that time the church was built in 1729 one of the largest buildings in Boston and served as a meeting place. After the construction of which was in 1872 almost destroyed in the great fire of Boston, the congregation built a new church at Copley Square, which she uses to this day.
