Osiky

Osiky ( German ossik, formerly Osek ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. You more than twelve kilometers north of Tišnov and belongs to Okres Brno- venkov.

Geography

Osiky located in the Sýkořská pahorkatina, a subunit of Nedvědička highlands in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. The village is situated at the northeastern foot of Sýkoř (702 m) on a saddle above the valley of the brook Besének in the eastern part of the Natural Park Svratecká hornatina. To the east rises the Láze ( 642 m ) west of the Bukový vrch ( 699 m) and in the northwest of the rock group Hrádky ( 627 m).

Neighboring towns are Brumov in the north, and Bedřichov Kunčina Ves in the east, Žleby, Kozárov and Strhaře to the southeast, and Synalov Kopaniny in the south, and Běleč Křeptov the southwest, Černvír, Louka and Skorotice in the west and Chlébské in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1390 as part of the rule Lomnice.

After the abolition of patrimonial Osík formed in 1850 a part of the community Brumov in the Brno district, judicial district Tischnowitz. 1880 Osík became independent. Since 1896, the village was named Osyky to the newly formed district Tischnowitz. Since 1923, the local name is used Osiky. After the dissolution of Okres Tišnov Osiky came with the beginning of 1961 to Okres Blansko. Since the beginning of 2007, the community is part of the Okres Brno- venkov.
