Königshuld, Polish Osowiec is a town in Upper Silesia. Königshuld located in the municipality Turawskie in powiat Opolski in Polish Opole Voivodeship. Since 2012 Königshuld is officially bilingual (Polish and German ).

Königshuld is located three kilometers west of the parish seat Turawskie and 12 kilometers northeast of the county town of Opole and voivodship.

History

The foundation of the town is connected with the construction of a factory. The permission for construction of the factory was granted on June 18, 1785.

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 300 voters voted to remain in Germany and 37 for Poland .. Königshuld remained with the German Reich. 1933 lived 1,688 residents in the town. 1939, the place had 1,878 inhabitants. By 1945, the place was in the district of Opole.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Osowiec Slaski and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. Part of the German population was expelled. In 1950, the city came to Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place to powiat Opolski. 2009, the village name was changed to Osowiec. On 8 March 2012, the City also received the official German place names Königshuld.
