Oude Maas

The Oude Maas ( Old Meuse ) is a tidal body of water between the island and Ijsselmonde island of Dordrecht in Holland.

It begins in Dordrecht, where the Beneden Merwede branches off into the Noord -, and ends at Vlaardingen in the Nieuwe Maas, which they then the New Waterway forms. The Oude Maas is about 30 kilometers long and has two tributaries, the Dordtsche Kil and the Spui. The Oude Maas was once the mouth of the Maas, today it is a branch of the river in the Rhine delta.
