Parable of Drawing in the Net

The biblical parable of the fishing net is a parable of Jesus, which transfers the handling of fishermen with "bad" and "good" fish on the end-time of divorce " evil" and " righteous." It is found only in the Gospel according to Matthew ( Mt 13:47-50 EU ) and is thus Matthean cal special property.

" 47 Again, the kingdom of heaven a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind. 48 When it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down and gathered the good into containers, but the bad they threw away. 49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the righteous. 50 and shall cast them into the furnace of fire; as weeping and gnashing of teeth will be. "

Comments

The parable is part of Matthew's special material. This can be fixed also make the use of language. So find the expressions οὖτος ἔσται, ἡ συντέλεια τῶν αἰῶνος, ἀφορίζειν and more exclusively the evangelist Matthew.

Interpretation

Most of the cantilever consider the parable of the fishing net as a condensed representation of the parable of the weeds among the wheat, or as a comment Scheme for weed parabola.

Eberhard Jüngel emphasizes this in the parable difference between collection ( fishing ) and divorce ( the Order of the fishermen ). This difference was eschatological understanding and the nature of God's rule. This is also indicated threatening closing formula of the " weeping and gnashing of teeth, " which probably is an editorial addition by Matthew and emphasizes the punitive aspect of the Last Judgment.
