Patrick Taval

Patrick Taval MSC ( born May 4, 1956 in Taranga, † April 29, 2013 ) was Roman Catholic Bishop of Kerema.

Life

Patrick Taval joined the Congregation of the Sacred Heart missionaries and received on 8 January 1984, the ordination.

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop on 22 June 1999 in Rabaul and Titular Bishop of Thimida. The Archbishop of Rabaul, Karl Hesse MSC, consecrated him on 2 October of the same year to the bishop; Co-consecrators were Desmond Charles Moore MSC, Bishop of Alotau - Sideia, and Ambrose Kiapseni MSC, Bishop of Kavieng. He was Vicar General and coordinator of pastoral functions.

On 6 December 2007 he was beatified by Benedict XVI. appointed Coadjutor Bishop of Kerema. After the retirement John Paul Marx ' MSC on 13 March 2010, he succeeded him as Bishop of Kerema.
