Roman Catholic Diocese of Alotau-Sideia

The Diocese of Alotau - Sideia (Latin: Dioecesis Alotaunus - Sideianus ) is a location in Papua New Guinea Roman Catholic diocese based in Alotau.

History

Pope Pius XII. founded the Apostolic Prefecture Samarai on June 13, 1946 annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate of Papua. On November 11 1956 she was elevated to the rank of Apostolic Vicariate.

On November 15 1966 she was charged with the Apostolic Constitution Laeta incrementa to the diocese Sideia and on 28 April 1975, adopted its present name.
