Roman Catholic Diocese of Lae

The Diocese of Lae (Latin: Dioecesis Laënsis ) is a location in Papua New Guinea Roman Catholic diocese based in Lae.

History

The Diocese of Lae was on 18 June 1959 by Pope John XXIII. cessions of territory from the Apostolic Vicariate Alexis port built as Apostolic Vicariate of Lae. On November 15, 1966, the Apostolic Vicariate of Lae was by Pope Paul VI. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Laeta incrementa to the diocese and the Archdiocese of Madang is a suffragan.
