Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Mount Hagen

The Archdiocese of Mount Hagen (Latin: Archidioecesis Montis Hagensis ) is a location in Papua New Guinea Roman Catholic archdiocese headquartered in Mount Hagen.

History

The Archdiocese of Mount Hagen was on 18 June 1959 by Pope John XXIII. cessions of territory from the Apostolic Vicariate Alexis Wewak harbor and built as Apostolic Vicariate of Mount Hagen. On November 15, 1966, the Apostolic Vicariate of Mount Hagen was raised to the diocese and the Archdiocese of Madang is a suffragan. The Diocese of Mount Hagen was on 18 March 1982 from parts of its territory to the founding of the Diocese of Wabag. On March 18, 1982, the diocese was elevated to the Archdiocese of Mount Hagen.
