Paul Migy

Paul Migy ( born September 14, 1814 Pruntrut, † April 1, 1879 in Bern, hometown entitled in Saint- Ursanne and Pruntrut ) was a Swiss politician.

Biography

Migy visited the College in Pruntrut, then studied law at the Universities of Bern and Vienna, and became an advocate in 1839 the patent. He then worked as an advocate from 1841 to 1844 and from 1852 to 1854 in Courtelary and 1870-1875 in Pruntrut. From 1846 to 1850 and from 1875 to 1879, he served as Attorney General of the Swiss Confederation as Chief Justice, and from 1851 to 1852.

Paul Migy politicized as a radical Grand Council in the canton of Bern from 1845 to 1846 and was in the 1846 Constitutional Council member. About fifteen years, from 1854 to 1870, he stood before the Governing Council of Justice and the Church of the Canton of Bern. In 1848 Migy was elected by the Bernese population in the Senate and had a seat there until 1851. In his last year in office, he was also President of the Council of States. Three years later, precisely in 1854, he was elected to the National Council and sat there until 1878. He was National President in Office 1857.

Furthermore Migy was chairman of Berner Kantonalbank.
