Paulo César Carpegiani

Paulo César Carpe Giani ( born February 7, 1949 in Erechim, Rio Grande do Sul ) is a retired Brazilian footballer who now works as a coach.

Playing career

Association

Carpe Giani started his footballing career at SC Internacional Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul. There, he played from 1970 until 1977. His first title he won in 1970 with the victory at the state championship of Rio Grande do Sul. In the years 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975 and 1976 was followed by other successes in the same competition. Important, however, was the triumph of the Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol, the Brazilian championship in 1975 and 1976. Coaching career

After his resignation Carpegiani was coach. In 1981 he took over the head coaching job at Flamengo Rio de Janeiro. These he led in glorious 80s with many titles.
