Payap University

The Payap University ( Thai: มหาวิทยาลัย พายัพ, PIH ) is a private university in Thailand in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand. The Payap University was the first private university in Thailand. The word p ( h) ayap means " Northwest" and is the traditional name of the region around Chiang Mai. It is supported by the Evangelical Church of Christ in Thailand.

History and General

The Payap University goes back to the Theological Seminary Thailand, which was founded in 1888. This seminar is now embedded in the Theological McGilvary College. 1974, creating what is supported by the Church of Christ in Thailand private university Payap College This was in 1984 the first four private universities in Thailand who received university status. The University is one of the founding members of the Association of Private Higher Education Institutions in Thailand and the Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning. This is primarily for the education in liberal arts and pre-professional training and to offer to 27 undergraduate and 8 graduate courses in Thai and English.

A total of about 6,000 students studying at Payap University, of which about 6% are trained in the English-taught programs at the International College (IC).
