July 1, 2011 Pedley was merged with Glen Avon, Mira Loma, Rubidoux and Sunnyslope the city Jurupa Valley.

Geography

Pedley was in the northwest of Riverside County, California, United States. The town had 12,672 inhabitants (as of 2010) and stretched out on 13.250 km ². In the south, bordering the place to Riverside.

History

The place name Pedley came from the English cricketer William Pedley, manager of San Jacinto Land Company in Riverside was. William Pedley invented a new irrigation system that he used. The place bears since 1903 or 1904 his name when the San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad (SP & LASL ) built a railway station with in Soft Pedley. The viaduct -like concrete bridge for the railways over the Santa Ana River was once the longest railway concrete bridge across the United States.

On 8 March 2011, the citizens decided with 54.03 % of the votes for a merger of the cities of Mira Loma, Pedley, Rubidoux, Glen Avon, and Sunnyslope became the new city Jurupa Valley. The decision took effect on 1 July 2011.

Pedley was part of the 31st district in the Senate of California, which is currently represented by Democrat Richard Roth, and the 66th District of the California State Assembly, represented by Democrat Al Muratsuchi. Furthermore belonged Pedley California's 44th congressional district in which a Cook Partisan Voting Index of D 29 and is represented by Democrat Janice Hahn of.
