Phon Na Kaeo District

Amphoe Phon Na Kaeo ( Thai อำเภอ โพน นา แก้ว ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) of the province of Sakon Nakhon. The Sakon Nakhon Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

Amphoe Phon Na Kaeo lies to the east of the province of Sakon Nakhon and borders from the south clockwise, seen on the Amphoe Khok Si Suphan, Mueang Sakon Nakhon and Kusuman in the province of Sakon Nakhon, as well as to the Amphoe Pla Pak, Huai Phung and Wang Yang Province Nakhon Phanom.

History

Amphoe Phon Na Kaeo originated from the same small district ( King Amphoe ), which was formed on 1 April 1991 by the Tambon Ban Phon Na Kaeo, Ban Na Tong Watthana and Paen from Amphoe Mueang Sakon Nakhon were removed. On 5 December 1996, the promotion was to a full Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Phon Na Kaeo consists of five communities ( tambon), which further into 48 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There are also five " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
