Pierre Méhaignerie

Méhaignerie Pierre ( born May 4, 1939 in Balazé, Ille -et -Vilaine ) is a French politician and former Minister of Justice.

Life

Since 1977 he has been Mayor of Vitre. From 1977 to 1981 he was the successor of Christian Bonnet Minister of Agriculture of France. He was succeeded in office as Minister of Agriculture, Édith Cresson. From 1993 to 1995, took over Méhaignerie by Michel Vauzelle the Office of the Minister of Justice of France. His successor as Minister of Justice was Toubon.

He was until November 2012 Member of the Union pour un mouvement populaire (UMP ) and previously a member of the Union pour la démocratie française ( UDF) has announced its intention to join the newly founded party Union des Independants et démocrates (UDI ). Between 1995 and 2012 he acted as UMP deputy the Ille -et -Vilaine in the National Assembly.

Méhaignerie is married and has two children.
