Pierre Pagé

Pierre Pagé Gilbert ( born April 30, 1948 in Quebec City, Canada ) is a Canadian ice hockey coach, who has a contract with EHC Munich since May 2013.

Career

Pagé began his career as a hockey coach in 1971 as assistant professor at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada. In 1973, he became its head coach of the University team and retained the post until 1980. It joined two seasons as assistant coach of the Calgary Flames in the NHL on. The Flames sent Pagé as head coach to their partner team in the CHL, the Colorado Flames. From there we went to another Calgary Flames offshoot, the Moncton Golden Flames of the AHL. 1985 managed Pagé then the permanent entry into the NHL, first as assistant coach of the Calgary Flames, with whom he could engage in the 1986 Stanley Cup final. Subsequently, he was chief of the band at the Minnesota North Stars, Quebec Nordiques to the Calgary Flames and finally at the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. Including his time as an assistant Pagé can thus look back on a total of 13 NHL seasons.

The change to the European Hockey took the position as coach of the Swiss A National league team HC Ambri -Piotta in 2000. The manager of polar bears Berlin, St. - John Lee, Pagé knew from his days with the Calgary Flames, caught up with him in 2002 in the German DEL and signed him for polar bears, where Pagé Uli Egen inherited. In 2004, he was able to move with the polar bear in the play-off finals, in 2005 and 2006, he celebrated with them winning the German championship.

At the end of the 2006/07 season Pagé left the polar bear Berlin. For the 2007 /08 season he was head coach at EC Red Bull Salzburg, where he won the league title in each 2008, 2010 and 2011. In May 2013 he became the head coach for the Red Bull EHC Munich.

Internationally

At the Olympic Winter Games in 1980, he was appointed guest coach of the Canadian national hockey team, which was able to occupy the sixth place. The following year he was assistant coach of Team Canada at the Canada Cup in 1981.
