Piovà Massaia

Piovà Massaia (formerly Piovà ) is a municipality with 648 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the Italian province of Asti (AT ), Region Piedmont. 1940, the community was renamed in honor of Cardinal Guglielmo Massaia, who was born here in Piovà Massaia.
The neighboring municipalities are Capriglio, Cerreto d' Asti, Cocconato, Cunico, Montafia, Montiglio Monferrato, Passerano Marmorito and Piea.
Geography
The municipality covers an area of 10 km ².
Specialty
In Piovà Massaia vines of Barbera for the Barbera d'Asti, a DOCG red wine are grown with status, as well as for the Barbera del Monferrato.
