Prix Décembre

The Prix Décembre is a French literary prize, which is awarded annually since 1989 for a novel, a short story or an essay in French. The winner is determined by a twelve-member jury, whose occupation changes regularly and receives 30,000 euros.

The price was as Prix Novembre of patron Philippe Dennery as Anti- Goncourt, ie, established as a non-conformist price for works away from the big market to life. However, Dennery retired in 1998 because he did not agree with the award to Michel Houellebecq. Pierre Bergé took over the patronage and led the price continues as Prix Décembre. He has since been handed over at the Hôtel Lutetia.

Among the judges were far example Pierre Bergé, Frédéric Beigbeder, Philippe Sollers, Daniel Schneiderman and Catherine Millet.
