Province of Ragusa

The Ragusa ( Provincia di Ragusa Italian ) province is one of the nine provinces of the Autonomous Region of Sicily of the Republic of Italy. Capital is Ragusa.

Geography

The province is located at the southern tip of Sicily.

To the north it borders the provinces of Caltanissetta and Catania, on the east by the province of Syracuse. Covering an area of ​​1614 km ² is home to around 310 220 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

The province is divided into twelve parishes.

Attractions

The towns of Ragusa, Modica and Scicli are among the late Baroque towns of the Val di Noto, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
