The Autoroute 20 in the eastern Canadian province of Quebec is part of the Trans-Canada Highway system. It is the continuation of Ontario Highway 401 and extends to Montréal north of the St. Lawrence River from Montreal and along the southern shore. The course is divided into two segments, northwest of the main line, there is another segment that is to be connected to the main line in the long term. Both segments have a total length of 547 km.

Route description

The entire route is highway-like expanded with at least two lanes in each direction, except the sections east of Cacouna at Rivière -du -Loup, which, although crossing-free, but most have only one lane in each direction. It begins at the provincial border to Ontario as a continuation of freeways 401 and follows parallel to the river of the St. Lawrence River in a northeasterly direction. The Route 132 follows the St. Lawrence River. At Le Bic northern segment begins. It runs as a local bypass to Rimouski and ends after 44 km at the regional airport of Mont- Joli.

Expansion projects

In order to meet the increased volume of traffic justice, is to be extended for a distance of 7 km in Vaudreuil - Dorion eight lanes Autoroute.
