Radio France is the public radio station in France.

History

Radio France emerged from the dismantling of the Office de Radio Télévision Française diffusion ( ORTF ), as at the turn of 1974/1975, the single carrier for the public television and radio broadcasting in France was disbanded by law. The transmitter newly founded took over on January 1, 1975, the three previously existing large radio France Inter, France Culture, France Musique and the ten regional FIP waves.

The international broadcasting was under the name of Radio France International ( RFI) either themselves also re-established, but with a lasting several years delay. RFI was first to the " fifth program " Radio France. Since 1982, RFI existed then as a subsidiary of Radio - France Group, in 1987 the station became independent.

Since 1996 under the name Sophia a database of articles that can accept other free and commercial radio broadcasters. In the same year was the start of transmission of Elisha program that brings exclusively French chansons. From September 2002 to 2006, Radio France operates a Radio City for Paris under the name of La City Radio de Paris on the frequency 107.1 MHz. It was incorporated under the name of France Bleu Ile de France in the France Bleu program.

Podcasts of programs have been available since 2006. In the same year the program France Vivace was lifted out of the baptism that was sent around the clock classical music in the cable, satellite and the Internet. It replaced the program Hector. Business

Radio France, like all French broadcasters, in the legal form of a private limited company in public ownership (société anonyme à capitaux publics ) operated.
