Raginpert

Raginpert († 701 ) was a son of the king Godepert and 701 short time King of the Lombards.

After the king's death in 700 Cunincpert first was his underage son Liutpert legitimate successor so that Ansprand was used as Regent. This situation took Raginpert, the dux ( duke ) of Turin, who himself belonged to the royal house of the Agilolfinger, eight months after the death Cunincperts open rebellion.

In the battle of Novariae (Novara) he could prevail against 701 Ansprand and dux Rotharit of Bergamo and usurp the throne. He died in the same year, after which his son succeeded him as king Aripert II. He had another son named Gumpert.
