Raining Men is a song by Barbadian singer Rihanna from her fifth studio album Loud. The up-tempo recording is a duet with rapper Nicki Minaj from Trinidad and Tobago. The song was presented on 7 December 2010 at the Digital Radio in the United States and released only as a digital download.

Background

It is neither musically nor lyrically a cover of It's Raining Men Weather Girls of the 1982 Rihanna said to the song. "A really fun song. No ..., nothing like the original. Criticism

The song was mixed reception from music critics. Allmusic said the song was " unfashionable ". The Los Angeles Times said that " Cheers ( Drink to That) and Raining Men were corny songs and a large departure from the Rated- R era. " The New York Times wrote that " Rihanna mechanized, rattling rhythm of Raining Men share with Nicki Minaj, "where she sings about an endless supply of willing men and raps. " Pitchfork Media called Raining Men as " a shameless Beyoncé copy that would be quickly forgotten if it was not a damn good Beyoncé - copy ". Spin magazine praised Raining Men as the " highlight of the album ." BBC Music praised Nicki Minaj as a " high-profile ' accomplice ' " at Raining Men, their flow stand Rihanna's performance in every way. The Guardian described the song as " provocative dancehall song." NME wrote that the MIA -like Raining Men play the strengths of Rihanna as well as from Minaj. About.com noticed Rihanna venture with the song in Niki Minaj's ' territory and there would also give good performances.
