Redęcin

Redęcin ( German name Reddentin ) is a village in the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship and is part of the rural community of Slupsk ( Stolp ) in the district of Slupsk.

Geographical location

Redęcin located 12 kilometers west of Slupsk and 17 kilometers east of Sławno ( Schlawe ) in Pomerania. The small village is reached by a side road, the south of Zebowo ( Symbow ) from the national road 6 ( former German Reich Straße 2, now also European Route 28 Gdansk - Szczecin ), branches off to the north. Station is located five miles south Sycewice ( Zitzewitz ) to the state railway line No 202 Gdańsk - Stargard ( Pomerania ).

The terrain is flat and reaches 47 to 53 meters above sea level. In the north, it is easy from the meadow valley of Moszczeniczka ( Motz ), a tributary of the Wieprza ( Wipper ). Through the town flows the earlier so-called Mühlbach.

Neighboring communities of Redęcin are: in the west Sycewice ( Zitzewitz ) and Gać (Gatz ), in the north Swołowo ( Schwolow ) and Bruskowo Małe (small Brüskow ), to the east Bierkowo ( Birkow ), Slupsk ( Stolp ) and Bolesławice (Ulrich field ) and in the south Reblino ( Reblin ).

History

In 1297 Reddentin was first mentioned. At that time the place was in possession of a knight Virchewitz, who had probably created the village road and manned by German settlers. This Virchewitz is probably the progenitor of the family of Woyen, because in 1337 he signed a certificate of land sales as a witness with Woyen de Redentin.

1479 - and probably sooner - Reddentin was owned by the noble family von Below, as well as later 1600-1680 1784 then united Martin von Below on Pennekow the goods Pennekow, Gatz, Symbow, Medenick and, indeed, Reddentin in his hand..

1822/23 the regulation of landlord and peasant relations was conducted in Reddentin, Symbow and Medenick. Farmers who were previously obligations in relation to the landlord, were private owners of the farms they cultivate, and the associated agricultural land was re-surveyed and mapped. In Reddentin there were at that time six farmers and 2 Kossäten. The Good Reddentin whose mansion was then newly built, remained until 1945, property of the family von Below. Last landowner on Reddentin was Gerd von Below.

In 1818 lived in Reddentin 166 inhabitants. Their number increased to 1871 to 242 in 1939 and was even 465

On 7 March 1945, the Red Army invaded by Reddentin ago. The residents tried to flee, but this failed. The following day, Russian troops occupied the place, and the inhabitants began a long and cruel march to Graudenz ( Grudziądz ). The estate was confiscated and remained until 1947 Russian military property. In 1945 the village as whole Pomerania Polish administration was assumed. After immigration from Poland and the expulsion of the population began. Until 1955/56, the Gutsbelegschaft remained German, then left the last German peasants the place that is now called Redęcin and part of Gmina Slupsk in Pomeranian Voivodeship is the powiat Słupski (until 1998 Voivodeship Stolp ). Today, 217 people live.

Manor house

The manor of Reddentin ( " Castle " ) was built in the 1820s instead of a humble old building. The client was Gustav von Below, the Reddentin had received from his father, Carl Gustav von Below to manage, and here with his wife Ulrike, a native of Puttkamer lived. The farm buildings of the estate were moved away from the site of the manor house. The manor consisted of a main building and neunachsigen each one growing in the northeast and southwest. When ingested by the Red Army in 1945, the mansion was plundered, but remained structurally intact. Due to lack of maintenance, the building fell into disrepair after 1965 and was finally blown up by the Polish army in 1973.

District Reddentin

By 1945, formed Reddentin with communities small Runow ( Runowo Sławieńskie ) and Reblin ( Reblino ) the Office Reddentin district Schlawe i Pom. in the district of the Prussian province of Pomerania Pomerania. Reddentin was also the seat of the registry office. District court area was Stolp.

Church

Reddentin as well Birkow ( Bierkowo ), Gatz ( Gać ) and Zitzewitz ( Sycewice ) - all in the district of Stolp, and Medenick ( Miednik ) and Reblin ( Reblino ) -. Before 1945 the inhabitants were in Reddentin almost all Protestant. Since 1945, only a few Protestant living in Redęcin. You now belong to the parish of Holy Cross Church in Slupsk ( Stolp ) in the Diocese of Pomerania - Greater Poland the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland.

Since 1945, the population of Redęcin is almost exclusively Catholic. The place is now part of the newly formed parish Sycewice ( Zitzewitz ) in the Office of the Dean Zachód Slupsk ( Stolp -West) in the Diocese of Koszalin - Kolobrzeg of the Catholic Church in Poland.

School

The schoolhouse in Reddentin in 1811 described as very expire. 1895 is reported of a brick building as a new building west of the village street. 1932/33, a new and larger building was constructed in which the children are taught from Symbow. The school was zweiklassig before 1945. Last German teachers were Karl Ems and Karlheinz Trapp.
