Retief Goosen
Retief Goosen ( born February 3, 1969 in Pietersburg (now Polokwane ), South Africa ) is a professional golfer. He is two-time Major winner and was represented from 2001 to 2007 over 250 weeks in the Top 10 of the World Golf Rankings. His nickname is " The Goose ".
Career
His amateur career was briefly interrupted when he was touched at the age of 16 by lightning. Professional was Goosen 1990, after winning the South African Amateur Championship. Meanwhile, he already has two U.S. Open victories, are to Beech 2001 and 2004. The European Tour Order of Merit ( money list ) he won in 2001 and 2002.
Since 1995, Goosen is one of the most consistent players in the world: he won worldwide each year, and he did so well on the U.S. PGA TOUR since 2001 He was a long time in the top 6 of the official world rankings, in which he in 2006 up to. pushed forward the 3rd place. After a weak 2007 season Goosen slipped temporarily out of the top 20
