Richard Baneham

Richard Baneham (* 1974 in Tallaght ) is an Irish animator and visual effects supervisor.

Baneham came at the beginning of the 1990s to Los Angeles and began as an animator on films such as The Iron Giant and Cats & Dogs - How Dog and Cat. He then worked on the animation for the two Lord of the Rings films The Two Towers and The Return of the King. With the company Rhythm & Hues was for the representation of mass battles in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, Narnia responsible.

His biggest success to date is James Cameron's Avatar - Pandora, for which he and Joe Letteri, Stephen Rosenbaum and Andrew R. Jones won an Oscar for Best Visual Effects, as well as a British Academy Film Award and a VES Award 2010.
