Background
For songwriting of the song Carey explained: "It was a different experience compared to the work of the album. I felt the story of the film is very close, especially what my character is going through, which made it easier to write the song for. I just was trying to figure Krystals pain and hope. "
"The song is basically a play in three acts and describes the development of Krystal ," Carey said.
"I was humming different melodies in front of me, while I was at the shooting. I thought it would be great with Willie Nelson together. I got in touch with him and met him after one of his concerts. "
The song is written from the perspective of the emerging singer Krystal, Carey's character from the movie Tennessee. "The song has its own story arc.
