Rita Wilden

Rita Wilden, née Jahn ( born October 9, 1947 in Leipzig) is a former, starting for the Federal Republic of Germany, and field athlete and Olympic athlete who was successful as a sprinter.

At the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972, she won the silver medal in the 400 -meter run behind the GDR starter Monika Zehrt ( gold ) and before the US-American Kathy Hammond (bronze). In the inaugural of the women in the Olympics 4 x 400 meters relay, she was with the season of the Federal Republic of third parties ( 3:26,5 min, together with Anette Rückes, Inge Bödding and Hildegard Falck ) behind the crews of DDR ( gold) and the USA ( silver).

In 1968 she took under her birth name Rita Jahn part in the Olympic Games, but did not get into the finals.

In European Championships she won silver in the 1969 4-by- 100 - meter relay and 1974 bronze over 400 meters ( 50.88 s ).

They also launched at the European Championships 1971 (200 -meter run: sixth place ) and at the Olympic Games in 1976 ( fifth place with the 4 x 400 - meter relay; excreted in the 400-meter semifinals ).

German champion, she was in the 200 - meter dash in 1968, 1969 and 1971 and in the 400 -meter run, five times in a row in 1972 until 1976.

In 1976 she became European Indoor champion in the 400 -meter run.

Rita Wilden belonged until 1969 to the TSV Alemannia Aachen, then the TuS 04 Leverkusen. In her playing days, she was 1.71 m tall and weighed 57 kg.
