Robert Edward Mulvee

Robert Edward Mulvee (* February 15, 1930 in Boston ) is Bishop Emeritus of Providence, Rhode Iceland, United States.

Life

Robert Edward Mulvee received on 30 June 1957, the ordination to the priesthood for the Diocese of Manchester.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him auxiliary bishop on February 15, 1977 in Manchester and Titular Bishop of Summa. The Bishop of Manchester, Odore Joseph Gendron, donated to him on 14 April of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Ernest John Primeau, Bishop Emeritus of Manchester, and John Francis Hackett, Auxiliary Bishop of Hartford.

John Paul II appointed him on 19 February 1985 as Bishop of Wilmington. On 9 February 1995 he was appointed Coadjutor Bishop of Providence and introduced into the office on 27 March of the same year. Following the resignation of Louis Edward Gelineaus he followed him on 11 June 1997 by the Bishop of Providence.

On 28 March 2005, the Pope accepted his pre- mounted resignation for reasons of age.
