Robert P. Griffin

Robert Paul Griffin ( born November 6, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan ) is a retired American lawyer and politician ( Republican), who represented the state of Michigan in both chambers of Congress.

Life

After attending school in Garden City and Dearborn Griffin served in the United States Army. During World War II he was inducted as a member of an infantry division in Europe. After his return he graduated in 1947 from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant. At the Law School of the University of Michigan, he received his law degree; In 1950 he was admitted to the Bar Association. He started practicing as a lawyer in Traverse City.

Policy

1956 Robert Griffin was chosen for the Republican Party in the U.S. House of Representatives; he represented the 9th district where the State of Michigan. After repeated re-election, he laid down his mandate in May 1966. Shortly thereafter, he joined the successor to the late Senator Patrick V. McNamara.
