Robert Žulj
Robert Žulj ( born February 5, 1992 Wels ) is an Austrian- Croatian football player. Since January 2014 he plays in the team of FC Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga.
His younger brother Peter to less than a year Žulj is currently active with the wolf Berger AC.
Career
Beginning of his career at FC Wels
His active career began Žulj that contains both the Austrian and the Croatian citizenship, in 1999 in his native city of Wels in Upper Austria in the resident FC Wels. There he was trained from the outset as a striker and acted as his younger brother, at an early stage of his football career very goal threat. So he came in the season 2004 /05 in two different U -13 teams of FC Wels fifteen times for scoring and came up in a similarly high number of games used. In the following season, in which the young striker talent was used already in the U-15 team, took his eye for goal over the previous year strongly. In a similar number of completed league games he scored in two different U-15 teams of the club only four hits and therefore could not connect to the successes of the previous year.
After the hazardous nature in front of goal in the season 2005 /06 was also followed in the season 2006/ 07 is not the desired turnaround for the young Žulj, which was henceforth used more often in defensive positions. Over the entire season, it brought the actual offensive players to just three league goals that he scored in all sponsored by Toto U-15 Youth League. A complete goal drought finally came in the championship of 2007/ 08, in which he was even without any scoring, which should, however, change significantly in the subsequent season. In named 2008/09 season came to Žulj old offensive strength again and became a true scorer within the sponsored Toto U-17 Youth League. For this purpose, a total of four goals came in the two U-18 teams of FC Wels. In the course of the season he came with all his league operations at a number of 25 goals scored.
This run continued in the 2009/10 season in the TOTO - U-19 Youth League, where he quickly became one of the most prolific players in the league, which should be rewarded at the end of the season. In 22 league games completed it brought the young offensive player in 16 goals, making him not only the top scorer of his team, but also earned him top scorer crown 2009/10. Furthermore, it was used this season in a U-18 team of FC Wels, where he was also equally successful with a hit in a single game in the completed O.Ö F U18 junior league.
Change to Ried and pro debut
With the goal scorer crown of the U-19 Youth League in the pocket of cooperation Player of the Football Academy Linz, short FAL was added and FC Wels by the Upper Austrian club SV Ried. There he was to initially gain experience in the second team of the club with gaming operations in the fourth division division of Upper Austria and are recommended over time so for the gambling at this time in the Austrian Bundesliga professional team. During his so far (as of October 19, 2010 ) last championship use Žulj hit in a 4-2 home victory over SV Traun on 17 October 2010, in addition to also to the Bundesliga team belonging Markus Hammerer and Jan -Marc Riegler the same as a double.
Having just completed at this time only three league games in the men's football, Žulj was first used in a competitive match of the professional team of SV Ried. This happened on September 17, 2010 during the second round of the OFB Cup 2010/11, when he came over FC Waidhofen / Ybbs in 64 minutes for Iván Carril Regueiro 's 4-0 success on the lawn. Just over two weeks later at that time 18 -year-old on 3 October 2010 made his official Bundesliga debut. He appeared as a substitute in the 1-2 home defeat against FC Red Bull Salzburg in 81 minutes with the score at 1-0 for the Red Bull Salzburg for the Spaniard Nacho. On the 2nd Round of the 2011/12 season he was able to achieve his first Bundesliga goal in the away match against SV Mattersburg.
The time in the junior national team
First experience in a young Austrian national Žulj collected in 2009 in the U-18 national team. After he was appointed in April 2009 by Hermann Stadler for the first time in the squad but did not play, he was on 16 September 2009, his debut in the red-white- red Teamdress. In the 1:2 away defeat against the age colleagues from Switzerland, the young striker was used in the 78 minutes for Daniel Offenbacher. After another short stint against the U-18 national team of Bulgaria followed for the then already 18 -year-old on 24 March 2010 in a 3-1 success over the age colleague from the Czech Republic, his first and until the end also the only use for the U- 18 National Team over the full duration. Right after a further use via a half in a 3-0 win over Estonia Žulj achieved on 19 May 2010 during his last mission for Austria U -18, a 3-1 victory over the age colleague from Hungary, his first goal for Austria.
His first enlistment in the U-19 squad in Austria received the Croatian -born actor offensive early August 2010 for a friendly match against the U-19 national team of Russia. It is in this game Žulj also debuted in the dress of the U-19 national team, when he the entire second half was used in the 1-1 draw against the Russians. He also participated with the team in qualifying for the U-19 European Football Championships 2011 in Romania, and graduated as a result of this so far (as of October 19, 2010 ) already two international matches. Among other things he scoring on 10 October 2010 in a 4-0 win over the U-19 national team of San Marino, where he also was one of the most prominent players on the pitch, two hits. To date (as of 19 October 2010) was Žulj in four international matches for the Austrian U-19 national team for the use, in which he scored two goals.
FC Red Bull Salzburg
During the winter break of the season 2013/14 Robert Žulj signed a two and a half year contract with FC Red Bull Salzburg to June 2016. In the Bundesliga, as in the Europa League, he came to Salzburg due to the rotation principle equal to several missions as a center forward.
