Robin Figren

Robin Figren ( born March 7, 1988 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player who is under contract with Frölunda HC in the Elitserien since April 2013.

Career

Figren went through during its term the junior junior sections of Hammarby IF, the club of his birthplace. For the 2004 season / 05, he joined the Junior Department of the Frölunda HC in Gothenburg, where he matured this season into one of the best junior players under the age of 18 in Sweden. Even for the following season, he came in the youth teams of the club from Göteborg used. It could also engage in each of two games with the first team in the Elitserien and the European Champions Cup and received an invitation in the Swedish U18 national squad for the Under-18 World Youth Championship in 2006.

After being selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2006 in the third round to 70th out of the New York Islanders, he moved just after North America. He ran in the 2006/07 season for the Calgary Hitmen on from the Western Hockey League. In 62 games he scored 27 points there. For the season 2007/ 08 he went within the league to the Edmonton Oil Kings. At the end of 2007, he was appointed to the squad for the Under-20 World Youth Championship 2008. There he won the silver medal. For the 2008/09 season Figren returned back to Sweden and completed almost the entire season with Djurgårdens IF in the Elitserien. After he moved back to North America and he was in the squad of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, the farm team of the New York Islanders. During the 2009/10 season the Swede became a regular in Bridgeport.

For the 2011/12 season Figren returned to his native Sweden, where he was obliged by Linköpings HC.
