Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kuching

The Archdiocese of Kuching (Latin: Archidioecesis Kuchingensis ) is a located in Malaysia Roman Catholic archdiocese based in Kuching.

History

Pope Pius XI. founded the Apostolic Prefecture of Sarawak with the Breve Quae rei sacrae on February 5, 1927 from annexations of the Apostolic Prefecture of Labuan and Borneo. On 14 February 1952 she was elevated to the Apostolic Vicariate. In the rank of Metropolitanerzbistums it was collected on 31 May 1976.
