Roman Catholic Diocese of Miri

The Diocese of Miri (Latin: Dioecesis Miriensis ) is a located in Malaysia Roman Catholic diocese based in Miri.

History

The Diocese of Miri was born on December 19, 1959 by Pope John XXIII. cessions of territory from the Apostolic Vicariate of Kuching established as Apostolic Vicariate of Miri. On May 31, 1976, the Apostolic Vicariate of Miri was by Pope Paul VI. applicable to the diocese and the Archdiocese of Kuching is a suffragan. The Diocese of Miri announced on 21 December 1997 from parts of its territory establishing the Apostolic Prefecture of Brunei.
