Roman Catholic Diocese of Gliwice
The Diocese of Gliwice (Latin: Dioecesis Glivicensis, poln: Diecezja Gliwice ) is a diocese located in Poland of the Roman Catholic Church in Upper Silesia in today Silesian Voivodeship based in Gliwice ( Gleiwitz German ).
History
With the Apostolic Constitution Totus Tuus Poloniae populus of 25 March 1992, Pope John Paul II ordered the church structure of Poland again.
The new formed Diocese of Gliwice was built from parts of the territory of the Archdioceses of Czestochowa, Katowice and Opole and assigned to the bishopric, suffragan of the Archdiocese of Katowice.
