Ross Lupaschuk

Ross Lupaschuk ( born January 19, 1981 in Edmonton, Alberta ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who was most recently in February 2013, the EC Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Hockey League contract.

Career

Ross Lupaschuk began his career as a hockey player in Canadian junior Western Hockey League in which he was active from 1996 to 2001 for the Lethbridge Hurricanes, Prince Albert Raiders and Red Deer Rebels. With the Red Deer Rebels, he won in his last junior year, first the WHL Championship, the Ed Chynoweth Cup, and then the Memorial Cup, the championship of the Canadian Hockey League. At both successes had the defender large proportion, which is why he was elected to the CHL Second All-Star Team and the Memorial Cup All-Star Team. In his time as a junior player, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1999 in the second round than a total of 34 players from the Washington Capitals for which, however, he never played. Instead, he stood from 2001 to 2005 when the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League contract, where he also came to three inserts for their cooperation partners Pittsburgh Penguins in the National Hockey League in the 2002/03 season.

For the 2005/06 season Lupaschuk went to Europe, where he received a contract with Mora IK of the Swedish Elitserien. The following season he joined their league rivals Malmö Redhawks, left this but shortly after the season starts to get Kärpät Oulu to connect from the Finnish SM- liiga. With this he won the Finnish Championship in the same year. After this success, he left Kärpät and signed with Avangard Omsk HK from the Russian Super League. The season 2008/ 09 he also started in Russia, but the HK Sibir Novosibirsk of the Kontinental Hockey League newly established. There the Canadians, however, could win a regular place, so he finished the season with his former Swedish club Mora IK, who was staying in the meantime in the subprime HockeyAllsvenskan.

After Lupaschuk had spent the 2009/10 season when HIFK Helsinki of the SM - liiga in, he was committed for the next season of the Cologne Sharks of the German Ice Hockey League. On 26 October 2010 the Cologne Sharks announced the exemption Lupaschuks. For the 2011/12 season the defender was engaged by the Vienna Capitals of the Austrian Hockey League, his contract was terminated in January 2012 ahead of schedule.
