Rossini Opera Festival

The Rossini Opera Festival Pesaro is an opera festival in Pesaro Rossini birthplace.

1980 Opera Festival was founded in Pesaro, which is held annually in the summer months.

The performances will take place in the comprehensive 850 places the Teatro Rossini ( built in 1818 ) and since 1988 in the modified " Palasport " Sports Arena, which can hold up to 1,500 people. Since 2000, the Teatro Sperimentale is also played, which offers the opportunity to present also smaller scale works with less public approval. On one hand, devoted to the festival ( such as the Festival Rossini in Wildbad ) the versatile opera by Rossini, on the other hand, a number of rare works from his environment were listed - some of his contemporaries Pietro Generali and Carlo Coccia - and parallel settings of some well -composed by Rossini text books, about by Luigi Mosca and Giuseppe Mosca.

The festival quickly made a name as an institution that rarely performed works by Rossini for the first time aufführte again or for the first time fully presented. A number of productions were not only transmitted on radio and television, but also released on CD or DVD.
