Rothau

Rothau is a commune with 1596 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Bas- Rhin in the Alsace region. It belongs to Arrondissement of Molsheim, on the Canton Schirmeck and community association Haute- ruptures.

Geography

The municipality is located in Rothau Bruche in the Vosges Mountains, about ten kilometers north-west of Sélestat. Together with the municipalities of La Broque, Barembach and Schirmeck Rothau forms a closed settlement area.

Neighboring communities of Rothau are La Broque and Schirmeck in the north, Barembach in the northeast, Natzwiller and Wild creek in the southwest and Solbach in the south.
