The village has long been dependent on the Abbey of Saint -Etienne in Caen. The farmers sent their pigs in the forest like there acorns to eat. The result was a custom that the pigs were brought before a representative of the ruling Abbey annually. During the Wars of Religion, the church was destroyed and rebuilt. A poor nobleman from Saint -Aubert produced counterfeit money, flew on, fled to the Roche d' Oëtre and was killed there. Before the French Revolution, the village was significant: There was a priest and two pastors vicars. In addition, there was next to the church, a prison and a notary. In a land survey 1596 Space allocations were recorded. The existence of a Lohmühle is occupied, another mill served the processing of cereals. In the past century, the village moved, a new church was built and the old church was abandoned. To this day, Saint -Aubert -sur -Orne has lost much of its former importance.
