Geography

San Felipe del Progreso is located in the northwest of the State of Mexico, about 60 km north- west of Toluca de Lerdo, at an altitude of up to 3300 m. The area of ​​the Municipalities is used predominantly agricultural. The largest body of water in the municipality is the reservoir of Tepetitlán.

The municipality of San Felipe del Progreso borders the Municipalities Ixtlahuaca, Jocotitlan, El Oro, San José del Rincón, Villa Victoria and Almoloya de Juárez.
