San Sperate

San sperate is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 8042 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Province of Cagliari in Sardinia. It is located about 18 kilometers northwest of Cagliari at the Riu Mannu.

History

In the period 450-550 the Vandals ruled over the Sardinian territory. A few years later, the relics of Saint Speratus came into tonight's sperate. The village was eventually 600-1200 also the name of the Holy

By the end of feudalism in 1835 the town was under the rule of different families.

Economy and Transport

In San sperate mainly cereals and tomatoes are grown. Through the village, Main Road 130dir Iglesiente leads Decimomannu to Monastir.
