Sangerhausen (district)
The county Sangerhausen was a district in the south of Saxony- Anhalt. On 1 July 2007 it was merged with the district of Mansfeld as the new district of Mansfeld - South Harz in the context of the district reform in Saxony- Anhalt. Neighboring counties were the counties Quedlinburg and the Mansfeld region, in the east of the district Merseburg - cross- ford, in the south and west, the Thuringian counties Kyffhaeuser and Nordhausen in the north.
