Sankt Florian am Inn

St. Florian am Inn is a market town in Upper Austria in Schärding district in Innviertel with 3088 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The municipality is located in the judicial district Schärding.

Geography

St. Florian am Inn is located at 321 m altitude in Innviertel. The expansion is 5.3 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 8.3 km. The total area is 24.1 km ². 19.1% of the area is forested, 63.5 % of the area is used for agriculture. Within the area the Inn power plant Schärding -Neuhaus is the ÖBK that after 3 years of construction went into operation in October 1961.

Coat of arms

Blazon: divided by green and red wave by three bars, the outer silver, the average red, humiliated; above a silver millstone with a golden, abutting Endrautenkreuz in the green, square, and standing on the top of the cavity. The municipality colors are yellow and red.

History

The first mention of St. Florian was at 1150 ( deed book of the country on the Enns, p 508, No. 4 ) and relates to the church and an associated Maierhof (now Frankenberger ). In the village Teufenbach (now administratively divided into upper and lower Teufenbach ) was a water castle, which was built in 1721 imaged by Michael Wening in a copper engraving. Remains of which have survived. The grave lay the castle owners of Teufenbach is located in the parish church of St. Florian. From the oldest family owners of this castle came Ortholf of Teufenbach, he was from 1326 to 1329 and from 1335 to 1346 provost of Reichersberg. Until 1779 St. Florian was under Bavarian sovereignty and came to the Peace of Teschen with the Innviertel (then ' Innbaiern ') to Austria. During the Napoleonic wars from 1810 bavarian, it belongs since 1816 to Upper Austria. After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich on 13 March 1938, the town belonged to the " Upper Danube ". After 1945 the restoration of Upper Austria. In the villages and All thing Gopperding the Kapsreiter group from Schärding operating large quarries that were later adopted by the Schärdinger granite AG. The Upper Austrian government decided to bring the community to the market by order of June 19, 2006.

Policy

Mayor is Bernhard Brait of the ÖVP. In the municipal elections of 2009, the ÖVP reached 10, the SPÖ and the FPÖ 9 6 mandates.

In 1991, the municipality had 2717 inhabitants according to the census, in 2001 then 3035 inhabitants.
