Santiago Derqui

Santiago Derqui Rodríguez ( * 1809 in Córdoba; † 5 September 1867 in Corrientes ) was on March 5, 1860 to the November 5, 1861 President of Argentina.

He resigned from the post of president because Bartolomé Mitre struck at the battle of Pavón Justo José de Urquiza 1861. Mitre became president of Argentina in the port.

Derqui was before he became president of Argentina, President of the legislature of the province of Córdoba, Minister of Justice, Cultural Affairs and Education under President Justo José de Urquiza.
