Scienceindustries
Science Industries (proper spelling in lowercase ), formerly the Swiss Society of Chemical Industries (SSCI ), the Swiss Association for companies in the chemical industry, the pharmaceutical industry and biotechnology. The 250 member companies are mainly engaged in the research, development, manufacture or sale of pharmaceutical products, vitamins, industrial specialty chemicals, crop protection products, flavors and fragrances.
History
The trade association was ( briefly SSCI ) founded in 1882 under the name Swiss Society of Chemical Industry. It is organized as an association since 1945 and maintains an office in Zurich.
Traditionally, put the trade association for competitive production, knowledge and business location Switzerland, free access to world markets and the promotion of innovation mentality in society. In 2008 he founded the Simply Science Foundation, which is meant to introduce young people to science and technology.
Since 2011, the trade association occurs under the name of "Science Industries " and also represents the economic interests in the fields of biotechnology, food and consumption and related science-based industries.
Objectives
The Association represents the economic interests of its member companies. He is committed to a market-based and innovation-friendly environment for companies producing in Switzerland. He is a member of Economiesuisse, the umbrella organization of the Swiss economy, and working together with European and international associations that represent common interests (eg CEFIC (European Chemical Industry Council ), ECPA ( European Crop Protection Association ), EFPIA ( European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations ), Europabio (The European Association for Bioindustries ), CropLife International ( Global Federation of the Plant Science Industry), ICCA (International Council of Chemical Associations), IFAH (International Federation for Animal Health), IFPMA (International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations ) ).
