Sébastien Vieilledent

Sébastien Sébastien Vielledent Vieilledent ( born August 26, 1976 in Cannes ) is a French Olympic champion in rowing.

Career

1994 was Vielledent Junior World Champion in the double sculls. His first try at world championships in the adult class he had in 1995, when he took to the sculls seventh place, a year later, he finished with the French sculls twelfth place at the Olympic Games in Atlanta. In the following years he appeared in the double sculls, in one and in the quadruple sculls at the World Cup and World Championships, without ever coming in the top three. At the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, he finished with the sculls tenth.

In 2001 he formed together with Adrien Hardy a double scull. The two occupied at the World Championships in Lucerne second place behind Hungary Akos Haller and Tibor Peto. In 2002, the two Frenchmen only the B-final and placed on the seventh rank. 2003 won Hardy and Vielledent her first World Cup race in Milan. On the same route and the World Rowing Championships were held in 2003, in which the two French won against the Italians Rossano Galtarossa and Alessio Sartori. In the 2004 season, the World Cup Results were quite different, to a tenth place in Poznan, followed by a third place in Munich and a fourth place in Lucerne. At the Olympic Games in 2004, the French were victorious against the Slovenian title defenders Luka Spik and Iztok Čop, Galtarossa / Sartori received the bronze medal.

Since his retirement in 2005 Vielledent has worked as a trainer. He is a Knight of the French Legion of Honour.
