Sectorul Botanica
Botanica (Russian Ботаника / Botanika ) is a district of the Moldovan capital Chisinau. In the 2004 census, it had 156,633 inhabitants.
The district is located in the southeast of the city and is limited among others by Rosental and the railway line. It has a surface of 1,300 hectares. Parts of the district of Botanica are Frumushika, Munchesht, Galata, Fulgulesht and Malina Mare.
Botanica takes its name from a botanical garden in the wine school, founded in 1842. In the 1960s, the expansion of existing small settlements began to a large residential area. The district was established in 1977.
In Botanica is the Zimbru Stadium, home of the Moldovan national football team, the club Zimbru Chisinau and FC Dacia Chişinău.
