Seingbouse

Seingbouse ( German: Seng Busch) is a commune with 1919 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Forbach and Canton Freyming -Merlebach.

Geography

The municipality is located in north Seingbouse Lorraine, five kilometers from the German - French border and four miles south of Freyming -Merlebach.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1594 as Seng Hauss. Other spellings denominated Seingbuss ( 1595 ), Zanbouss ( 1606 ), Seinebouss ( 1684) and Sengbousse ( 18th century).
